The Dante Legacy
Story Blurb s:
Dante’s Blackmailed Bride:
When dark and dangerous Severo Dante, the eldest of the
Dante brothers, is scorched by the family’s “Inferno,” he’s
horrified to discover that his soul mate, sexy, waif Francesca
Sommers, is also his chief business rival’s daughter.
Sev will use any method at his disposal—including blackmail—to get
her to leave her family business and work for Dantes…and more
importantly, return her to his bed. Available through
Silhouette Desire, February 2008.
Dante's Stolen Wife:
Dantes’ Inferno proves a serious problem for family bad boy,
Marco Dante, since the burn is for the woman to whom his twin
brother, Lazzaro, is about to propose. When the nearly
betrothed couple has a falling out, Marco sweeps in and elopes
with brilliant, adorable, Caitlyn Vaughn, despite knowing
she thinks he’s Lazz. To add to their dilemma, he discovers
Caitlyn is leaking private information about Dantes—information
that could lose Dantes their most important account. Available
through Silhouette Desire, May 2008.
Dante's Wedding Deception:
When tough guy Nicolò Dante, meets con
artist, Kiley O’Dell, one look is all it takes for The
Inferno to erupt. He’s intent on disproving her claim that
the O’Dells own a share of the Dantes' fire diamond mine.
After an incendiary argument, Kiley falls down a flight of steps.
When she awakes in the hospital, it’s to discover that she has a
job and apartment she can’t recall. But even more shocking
is discovering the husband that comes with that job and apartment
. . . Nicolò Dante. Available through Silhouette Desire, July
2008.
Dante's Contract Marriage:
Lazzaro Dante, a
fierce, hard loner, agrees to a contract marriage with the daughter of
Dante’s biggest and most important customer, Ariana Romano. One
look at his impulsive, fun-loving wife-to-be and Lazz discovers the searing
power of The Inferno. But he’s determined to get rid of his bride as
soon as the business contracts are signed because he doesn’t trust love, let
alone The Inferno. To his fury, his new wife is equally
determined—determined to keep her new husband and teach him the true meaning
of love. Available through Silhouette Desire, October 2008.

The Dante Legacy:
Who's Who
Severo Dante, Sev, the
eldest of the Dante brothers. He's responsible for the change in the
Dante fortunes and is determined to regain their former power and position
no matter what it takes. And then he meets Francesca Sommers who puts
all his hard work in jeopardy.
Marco Dante,
the family charmer. (NOTE: For those of you who are
fans of the Salvatore brothers, I chose this name deliberately as
a nod to that series.) He's intent on winning the Romano
account, an account put in jeopardy by his Inferno wife, Caitlyn
Vaughn.
Lazzaro Dante,
Lazz, the
Dante family tough-guy loner has no interest in experiencing The
Inferno, not after his twin brother, Marco, stole his one-true
love. Or so he thinks until he's forced into a contract
marriage with Ariana Romano.
Nicol ò
Dante,
Nic,
the family "troubleshooter." A
warrior at heart, he finds creative ways to solve the Dante family
problems, regardless of consequences. When Kiley O'Dell
causes one of those problems, he'll do whatever it takes to solve
her.
Francesca
Sommers,
is torn between Sev Dante, the man she can't resist, and the
father she's never known. When The Inferno puts her career
and family in jeopardy, she must choose between love and loyalty.
Caitlyn Vaughn,
has always been the practical intellectual...right up until she's
scorched by The Inferno. Logic goes out the window and she's
left to deal with a husband who can't be reasoned with or
organized, and who's touch drives her wild with desire.
Kiley O'Dell,
a passionate spitfire. She's determined to reclaim the
O'Dell ownership in the Dantes' fire diamond mine, right up until
she wakes from a fall to discover that at some point during the
weeks missing from her memory, she fell in love and married Nicolò
Dante.
Ariana Romano,
elegant, loving, and family-oriented. One look at Lazz Dante
and she's determined to draw him from the shadows and into the
burning warmth of The Inferno. Only one thing stands in her
way. Lazz has no interest in love...or his contract bride.
Primo
Dante,
family patriarch. When his son and daughter-in-law are
killed in a boating accident, he raises his four grandsons.
His eldest grandson assumes the reins of the international
family-run jewelry company, Dantes. Now the four
brothers are dedicated to restoring the business to its former
glory, a glory their father nearly squandered.
Nonna
Dante,
family matriarch. She experienced The Inferno while engaged
to Primo’s best friend. Breaking off her engagement, she and
Primo elope, before immigrating to the United States. They
had two sons, Dominic and Alessandro (Alex). In addition to
Dominic's four sons (Sev, Marco, Lazz, and Nic), Alex has three
sons and a daughter, Rafe, Luc, Draco, and Gianna (Gia).

Writing
The Dante Legacy:
The idea for The Dante Legacy
came to me in an interesting way. I've always been a Star
Trek fan, and one of my favorite episodes, Amok Time, was
on one evening late at night. It's the one where Spock is
driven to return to Vulcan in order to mate. While I was
watching the episode, I received an email from a reader asking about
one of my favorite series for Harlequin Romance...the books
featuring The Salvatore Brothers. The reader asked when I'd be
writing the final two Salvatore books.
I'd originally created six brothers
for that particular series, and due to circumstances beyond my
control, I was only able to write four of the six stories. I
replied to the reader in question, explaining that those final two
books wouldn't be written anytime soon—if
at all—and
apologized for the inconvenience. I remember thinking that I
wished I could do another series like the Salvatores, only this time
complete it in its entirety.
Somehow, in that late night delirium,
the two ideas melded and I remember thinking... What if there
was this Italian family of men like the Salvatores who experienced
Spock's type of Mating Season. And what if this Mating Season
has existed within the family for as far back as anyone can
remember. I started looking through my baby name books for
intriguing Italian names, and came across "Dante." And that's
when it hit me...Dante's Inferno. It was the perfect name for
the family, and the perfect name for this uncontrollable urge to
mate.
And that's how The Dante Legacy
was born.
